This collection contains Financial & Legal documents related to the Pearce family affairs from 1780-1930. Primarily consists of land & property deeds, intentures, receipts, and tax information. The collection also includes the memoir of Henry C. Roney, which covers the experiences of Roney and North Virginia Soldiers during the Civil War.

Abstract Robert Walton Jr (1894-1987) was born in Augusta, Georgia on January 22, 1894, the son of Lucy Eleanor Wilson Walton and Robert Walton. He entered the United States Army at the age of 23 in 1917. He received his initial training at Camp Gordon (Atlanta), and was ultimately commissioned a Second Lieutenant on August 15, 1917 in the infantry of the 82nd "All American" Division. This collection is comprised of materials related to the genealogy research William H. Dumont conducted from 1960-1969, on many Georgia families. The materials include correspondence, photocopies of primary sources, research notes, and handwritten family trees. William Henry Dumont (1897-1970),  was a certified genealogist and editor of the National Genealogical Society Quarterly, and researched family geneaolgy focused in Georgia and the Carolinas.
