William Bloodworth correspondence
Scope and Contents
This collection consists of correspondence sent to Bloodworth at the beginning of his presidency. To acquaint himself with the faculty and staff of the University, Bloodworth requested introductions from all employees to familiarize himself with the culture and social scene. These letters document the environment of the University in the early nineties, as well as the beginning of Bloodworth's tenure as presisdent of both Augusta College and Augusta State University.

Biographical / Historical
Dr. William A. Bloodworth Jr. served as the eighth president of Augusta College and its successor, Augusta State University, for 18 years from 1993 until his retirement in 2012. He is responsible for major developments in the University's campus facilities, community outreach, and current state of the Summerville campus, including the construction of Allgood, University, and and Science Halls.
