Savannah River development photographs

Originally a bound black paper photograph album labeled Savannah River Development of Georgia Carolina Power Company, the photographs show the construction of the Stevens Creek hydroelectric dam.  There are several shots taken farther down the Savannah River, including shots of Sibley Mill and the Confederate Powderworks Chimney. The album also contains a specs sheet and chronology noting that the first power was generated February 16, 1914

Walter Lee Shepeard papers

Dr. Walter L. Shepeard was a faculty member of the Medical College of Georgia from 1948-1971. He developed one of the first blood banking programs in the southeast. The Shepeard Community Blood Center was named in his honor. This collection consists of his research in the history of medicine and historical information on the blood bank foundation.
