Biographical / Historical

The National Society of the Colonial Dames of America or NSCDA is an American lineage society comprised of woman who can track their heritage to the American Colonies prior to 1776. The organization was founded in 1891, and their Georgia chapter was founded in 1893. The Georgia Society consists of 17 town committees; one of them being Augusta.

The NSCDA’s mission is to actively promote the national heritage of the United States through historic preservation at local and state level, encourage civic engagement, celebrate patriotic service, and promote educational projects.
