Processing Information
The provenance of the papers is unknown. The speeches, written on legal-sized paper in the 1870s, were contained in 3-ring binders. When the papers were properly re-housed in archival folders and boxes, the order in which they were held in the binders was maintained. This may not have been the original order of the papers. As a precaution against damaging the papers the original paper fasteners were not removed.
