Biographical or Historical Information

The British Colony of Georgia was divided into Parishes in 1758 by an Act of the Georgia General Assembly. In 1777, Richmond County was formed out of a part of the colonial St. Paul's Parish, and was formally established by the State Constitution of Georgia.
