Scope and Contents
This collection is comprised of a single volume scrapbook kept by Mary Lois Sibley Eve, consisting of newspaper clippings that document local arts reviews, the United Daughters of the Confederacy, and Confederate memorial efforts, with a few entries on child labor and education. Of most interest is a letter on Georgia Department of Education letterhead, written on behalf of Superintendent Duggan regarding the establishment of Georgia Day.

Biographical or Historical Information
Mary Lois Sibley Eve (1870-1935) was born in Augusta, Ga on February 12, 1870, the daughter of George Royal Sibley and Emma S.H. Tucker. Her mother was a descendant of John Samuel Goode, of Virginia, who fought as a soldier in the American Revolution. As a result, Eve was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She married Oswell Roebuck Eve in November of 1895. Oswell R. Eve was an attorney in Augusta who belonged to the well known local Eve family. The couple had one daughter, Mary Lois Eve (1897-1984).
