Biographical or Historical Information
Telfaiville was a small village located in Burke County, Ga. Telfairville was most likely named after the prominent Telfair family, of Savannah, Ga. Mary Telfair, who died in 1875, was the last of the Telfairs, and in her will, made bequests for a number of schools and churches, so that her family name would live on. One of those bequests was to the Presbyterian Church in Telfairville, Ga. That bequest is one of the only surviving records referencing the village of Telfairville.
