Overview

This manuscript collection documents Dr. Bliven’s career as an orthopedic surgeon and department chair at the Medical College of Georgia, and includes his work and involvement with social services for disabled children and adults and the healthcare of inmates housed in state and local prisons.

Scope and Contents

This collection is comprised of the architectual plans for the construction of the Forrest Hills-Ricker Hotel by the architectural firms of Willis Irvin in 1926, and the later plans for remodeling the Oliver General Hospital which later occupied the building, in 1950.

Scope and Contents From the Collection: This collection consists of 1800 19th and 20th century photographs depicting a range of subjects, which include: buildings and scenes of Augusta, Georgia, images of the American Civil War, individuals, and local events. Lenwood Veterans Administration Hospital

Abstract This collection consists of three photographs and a note.  The photographs show Alice Hartford Mauder Mileikowsky, Women's Army Corps Medic in front of Oliver General Hospital, two recovering privates in front of Oliver General Hospital, and  Alice Hartford Mauder Mileikowsky and collegue with a patient in the hospital's ambulatory ward.  The note accompanied the donation of the photographs Also contains three original Beal's Army Comics World War II postcards depicting Women's Army Corps...
