Prostheses can be functional, as in the case of artificial arms and legs, or cosmetic, as in the case of an artificial eye. Dr. Leslie L, Wilkes graduated from the Medical College of Georgia in 1965 and practiced orthopedic surgery in Savannah. Wilkes began collecting medical rare books, documents, and artifacts shortly after graduated from MCG. This collection includes loose rare medical published prints and medical artifacts.
