Abstract

This collection is comprised of materials related to the genealogy research William H. Dumont conducted from 1960-1969, on many Georgia families. The materials include correspondence, photocopies of primary sources, research notes, and handwritten family trees. William Henry Dumont (1897-1970),  was a certified genealogist and editor of the National Genealogical Society Quarterly, and researched family geneaolgy focused in Georgia and the Carolinas.

William H. Dumont, Stovall family genealogy research

Scope and Contents

This collection includes 9 notebooks of William H. Dumont's genealogy research notes for the Stovall family, compiled while he was writing the Stovall Geneaology. The notebooks, originally housed in binders, seem to have been split into two sets by Dumont. The first set are numbered 1-4, with a 5th notebook acting as an index, and the second set of notebooks labeled A-D.
