This collection is comprised of meeting minutes, a roll book, and general research materials related to the Clinch Rifle Company. The collection also contains photcopies of the meeting minutes and roll books for patron use. Research materials are comprised of correspondence about the publishing process of the roll book, as well as photocopied miscellaneous newspaper clippings about the military company.

There is a large group of letters from Julien Cumming from a prison camp during the Civil War. Julien later died there. This collection is comprised of photographs of Harry V. Mitchell and the Augusta area. They portray the family and Life of Harry V. Mitchell as well as scenes of the Augusta area during the turn of the 20th century. Sites depicted in the collection include Sibley Mill & the Confederate Powerworks Chimney, Broad Street & the Confederate Monument, Sand Bar Ferry, the Savannah River, the Augusta Canal, and Barnes Field (now known as Daniel Field).

Henry S. Dortic Correspondence

This collection is comprised of typed letters written by Henry S. Dortic of the 48th regiment of the Confederacy to his mother, who resided in Augusta, Georgia from March to June 1862. These lettes cover his experiences in the regiment, as well as the sociocultural environment of the American Civil War. Collection also contains several handwritten pages of Civil War research from an unknown source.

Monumental Association membership card

Scope and Contents

This collection is comprised of a single membership card of the Monumental Association of Augusta, Ga, which according to the card, confers to the holder a share in the property of the monument for the confederate dead of Georgia. On the back of the card are the following hand written notes: "James M. Smythe, slate agent, Augusta Ga Spril 1st, 1873. Received one dollar for one fifth of ticket no 47519." Signed, "Daniel C. Rheney, Burke County Ga."
