Biographical / Historical
Dr. Baldev Bariana Singh was born in 1933. He earned his doctor of medicine in dentistry in 1955 from the University of Bombay. In 1970 he earned his doctor of philosophy in anatomy and pathology from the University of Rochester, New York.
Singh joined the dental faculty at the Augusta University in 1971 as a professor of oral pathology. (At the time the university-wide name was the Medical College of Georgia.). Over the years he received the Teaching Excellence Award from more than 10 graduating classes. In 1983 he was awarded the Annual Outstanding Faculty Award for the dental school. Singh served as the clinical director of the MCG Dental Hygiene Symposium for 22 years and authored numerous scientific articles.
Dr. Singh died on March 26, 2005 at the age of 71.
