Biographical / Historical
Dr. Lucius Todd was born in Augusta, Georgia around 1890 and died at his Augusta rsidence on Decembr 13, 1946. He is buried in Westover. He graduated from the Medical College of Georgia in 1915. He then left Augusta nd did not return until 1938 when he became a professor of tuberculosis at the medical college. In 1942 he was aoppointed to head of the Wilhenford Hospital at MCG when it reopened. His mother died on July 14, 1930 at her residence at 1138 Monte Sano Avenue. She had four children: sons William and Lucius and daughters Jennie and Beulah. At the time of his mother's death, he and his wife Christina lived in Kentucky. After returning to Augusta, he was active in programs to educate the public about tuberculosis. His wife became very active in the Auxiliary to the Richmond County Medical Society and in some other charitable organizations. The Todd house was on Wrightboro Road in 1941. DR. TOdd was among the Forest Hills residents who opposed a permit for a "lunch room" on the south side of Wrightsboro Road, west of the airport.
