Biographical / Historical

While not much is currently known about George Combs and the wider Combs family in Richmond County, George Combs was a receipent of a parcel of land in the 1832 Land Lottery of Georgia, which was the government's attempt at redistributing seized Native American lands. From the receipt book's added context, Combs was a businessman in the Augusta area.
