These posters have the team signatures.Additional folded posters, magazines and brochures, pictures and wooden paddle signed by the 1990 team

Biographical or Historical Information
College ranked table tennis is played under the auspices of USA Table Tennis, the national governing body for the Olympic sport of table tennis in the United States. See USA Table Tennis Organization http://www.usatt.org/magazine/05nov-dec/college_champions.shtml A Table Tennis team was on campus from academic year 1988-1989 to academic year 2003-2004. Pete May and John Groves, Student Activities Director 1969-2004, were credited with forming the first team. Augusta College was National Intercollegiate Table Tennis Team Champions from 1989-1992. Scott Butler was Men’s Singles Champion in 1989 and Derek May was Men’s Singles Champion in 1991. Magali Montes was Women’s Singles Champion in 1992. The team also won the First International Borrego Table Tennis Championships in Monterrey, Mexico in 1990. This entry appeared for the last listing of the Table Tennis Team in the Jaguar Student Handbook 2003-2004. “The Augusta State University Table Tennis team consists of the top-ranked players in the U.S. The team has won eight Southeast Collegiate Championships, three National Singles Championships, and six National Team Championships...” A new team has been formed for the 2007-2008 academic year for the purposes of intramural play.
