Scope and Contents
This collection is comprised of two scrapbooks, as well as clippings, correspondence, ephemera, and miscellaneous notes related to Tubman high school, and the 100 year celebration of the school, planned by Eleanor Mae Schweikert Moss in 1974. The scrapbooks, ephemera and clippings relate to Schweikert's time at Tubman High School from 1914-1917, and the correspondence relates exclusively to the planning of the centennial celebration of Tubman High School, which took place in 1974.

Biographical or Historical Information
Eleanor Mae Schweikert, born in 1899, attended Tubman High School. She later worked as a secretary in Augusta, Georgia. In 1974, Eleanor planned the Tubman High School Centennial celebration, which included commemorative services and a social hour held on November 10, 1974.
Tubman High School was founded in 1874, when philanthropist Emily Tubman donated property for the establishment of the first public high scool for girls in Augusta, GA. In 1950, the school became a co-educational junior high school
