Huguenot families genealogy
Scope and Contents
This collection is comprised of two narrative genealogies on the history of various Huguenot families, written by Arthur Ray Rowland. The first genealogy is entitled: Seeking Mary Ann, my Fair Grandmother. The Huguenots: Connecting DeVeaux, Fair, Bessant, and Rowland families, and was published in 1994. The second genealogy is entitled: Distant Cousins: The Huguenots, Connecting Rowland, Bulloch, de Bourdeaux, De Veaux, and Roosevelt families of South Carolina, Georgia, North Carolina and New York, and was published in 1995.

Biographical or Historical Information
Arthur Ray Rowland (1930-) was born on January 6, 1930 in Hampton, Georgia, the son of Arthur Rowland and Jennie Goodman Rowland. He completed his undergraduate education at Mercer University in 1951, and his Masters degree at Emory in 1952. Rowland worked as a librarian at a number of institutions in Georgia, including: Georgia State College, Armstrong College, and Augusta College. He also served as a Trustee of the Augusta-Richmond County Public Library, as a Delegate White House Conference on Libraries and Information Science in 1979, and a consultant on library management to the Government of Indonesia in 1986.
