Biographical / Historical

Bath, Georgia is an unincorporated community located outside the Augusta city limits near the town of Blythe. Established in 1784 as a retreat for residents of Augusta, it became known for its mineral springs, referred to as the Richmond Baths. At the height of its development as a resort destination, Bath hosted notable visitors including President William Howard Taft and John D Rockefeller. The community is also home to the Bath Gardens, a 55 acre landscape designed in a European style and developed during the 1960s.
