Biographical or Historical Information

Clarence E. Clark (1858-) was a dealer in real estate and a broker of stocks and bonds in Augusta, Georgia. He was born at Coldspring, Edgefield County, South Carolina, the son of John M. Clark and Sarah Ann Elizabeth Butler Clark. Clark attended the Richmond Academy. He began his career working for the dry goods store J.B. White, in Augusta, Georgia, and in 1890, began working in the real estate business with John W. Dickey. The two began a firm called Clark & Dickey, though Clark went into business independently a few years later.
