Biographical or Historical Information
Bellevue Cottage is a building on the Augusta University campus. It was the home of Freeman Walker, a United States Senator and the mayor of Augusta, Ga. from 1817-1819. In 1826, Walker deeded 70 acres of land to the United States Government to be used as an arsenal, now the site of Augusta University.
