The oringal war diary of James Edwin Harper and the corrsponding transcript chronicling his life as a Conferderate soldier in the Civil War. Also included is his hornorable discharge becase of  typhoid fever, his declaration of allegance to the United States after the war and the and the accompayingment paper from the military Convention giving Harper freedom as a citizen of the United States once again.
