The First Baptist Church of Evans (also known as Evans Baptist Church) was a local congregation originating in Evans, Georgia. Founded in 1930, the founding members split from local Abeline Baptist Church to form their own church in the Evans area. Originally, the rural congregation met in the Evans Public High School building before finding a permanent location after land was donated on behalf of the community. Although originating as a modest rural congregation, the economoic boom of the 1960's and 1970's transformed the agrarian area and increased church membership. The church flourished for many decades until its consilidation into the larger First Baptist Church of Augusta in 2023. The original location of the Church has been torn down at the intersections of Washington and Bel Air Roads in Evans to make way for commercial property.
