Scope and Contents
A rather ornate receipt for direct taxes for $72.33 for a very ornate handwritting person. The first two initials of the name are ornately illegible (but may be JP) the last name is McWhorten. The taxes are for land in the city of Augusta and 845 additional acres in Richmond and Irwin Counties, dated 21 May 1866. Signed by S.A. Paneraed and J.G. Bates.
