Sale of Summerville Lot and Tax Fi Fa Documents affilliated with Land in Item 6510-14,6521,6522,6524,6526., 1889-1912
Scope and Contents
This collection is a strange lot. It has files within it that are also represented in other items. It looks like it was a property history put together for some property on the edge of Summerville. It starts with a contract to buy a lot on William Street in Summerville and then dives into the sordid history of Tax Liens and failed mortgages from the decline and death of Emeline Sibley. But the connection is not well established as the history of the lot in question, given in the contract for sale, indicates this lot is other land acquired by the Walton family much earlier than possible for the former Sibley property. It is not clear what the intent was in creating this item as a stapled package. Also note: it is in folder 6527, but the contract is definitely labeled as Item 6528, and the tax fi fa is labeled 6509.
